The exhibition of automobiles has become an added highlight at the ongoing Amdavad Shopping Festival. Informing media the event organising committee said that the Republic Day weekend will have about 40 automobile exhibitors participating.
Announcing the same, municipal commissioner Vijay Nehra said, "For two days, January 27 and 28, 2019, auto expo will be organised at the same venue ie. Riverfront." He added that, till now, more than 1.25 people have participated from the shopping and took the coupons. "Total 7.24 lakh coupons have been issued so far. And out of this the estimate sale is Rs 36.65 crore. However total sale is around Rs 100 crore during the first week of the festival," added Nehra.
Jayendra Tanna, president of the Vibrant Shopping Festival Organising Federation said that they are planning to bring heritage cars from the Pranlal Bhogilal's Vintage Car Museum. Those too will be on display during the two days," he said.
The event organisers have focused on the entertainment shows too. "We have arranged several drama and musical nights. For the first time, we have arranged for the Gujarati Film Festival, have tied up with the multiplex owners and are showing films at free of cost. Also, at three auditoriums drama are being shown for free," said Shailesh Patwari chairman of the advisory committee the of shopping festival. Patwari said that they are considering to have such shopping festival at many other venue in the state.
