CEPT University is all set to host its 12th convocation with an international face as its guest this time. The convocation which is scheduled to be held on January 20 is likely to witness professor Alain Bertaud, an urban planner and a senior research scholar, NYU Marron Institute of Urban Management as the chief guest.

Professor Bertaud has served as principal urban planner at the World Bank for almost 20 years. Prior to joining the World Bank, he worked as a resident urban planner in a number of cities including Bangkok, San Salvador (El Salvador), Port au Prince (Haiti), Sana'a (Yemen), New York, Paris, Tlemcen (Algeria), and Chandigarh (India). Bertaud's research, conducted in collaboration with his wife Marie-Agnès, focuses primarily on the interaction between urban forms, real estate markets and regulations, in shaping the spatial structure of cities.

In past three years, CEPT University had variety of people as their chief guest and the list included Pratap Bhanu Mehta, Girish Patel and Tridip Suhrud.
