The Narol police on Wednesday night arrested two men with six country-made pistols and 12 live cartridges. They were caught while the police were stopping vehicles for routine check near Narol circle.

The arrested were identified as Adil Solanki and Sohil Dal, both residents of Junagadh. They were travelling by an autorickshaw when they were stopped by the police and eventually arrested. Further investigation revealed that they had brought the weapons from one Rajkumar Yadav from Uttar Pradesh (UP), and were taking them to Junagadh. It was also revealed that they were going to give two pistols to one Azim Khadiya in Junagadh, and keep the remaining for their own use.

Investigators said Dal was arrested for the murder of one Nasir Sumra in Junagadh in 2015. The victim's brothers Altaf and Husain had filed a complaint in the case. In 2017, Solanki tried to kill Husain after he refused to take back the complaint. He was arrested and another complaint was lodged against Dal after the attack. However, Solanki managed to jump parole the same year and the police have been looking for him since then.

During interrogation, they revealed that they had made a plan to kill the Sumra brothers, for which they went to UP to get weapons. They were on their way back to Junagadh when they were apprehended by Narol police.

Inspector RA Jadav, Narol police station, said: "On August 2, both had left for UP and while they were returning back to Junagadh via Narol, we nabbed them on the basis of suspicion. We have lodged a case against four in the matter, including Rajkumar and Azim to whom they were going to give two of the pistols."
