Some relief is likely from the scorching heat for Amdavadis for the next couple of days as maximum temperature is forecast to come down by 2-3 Celsius from the existing 42 degree Celsius.

The India Meteorological Department said that dry weather prevailed in the state on Sunday, with no large change in temperatures. Ahmedabad was among the hottest places in the state with maximum temperature of 42 degree Celsius, a departure of three degree from normal. Mercury also touched 42 degree in Gandhinagar, Surendranagar, Amreli, and Vadodara on Sunday.

IMD said in its forecast that maximum temperature in Ahmedabad would fall to 40 degree on Monday, and further to 39 degree on Tuesday, before rising to 40 degree the next day, and touching 41 degree until Saturday. The minimum temperature was forecast to fall from the existing 26 degree to 24 degree on Monday and Tuesday, before rising by one degree on the next two days, and touching 26 degree after that.

The fall in Mercury level would be because of light to moderate rain or thunder-showers at isolated places in Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Valsad, Amreli, Vadodara, Surat, Surendranagar, Devbhumi Dwarka, and Kutch over the next couple of days. IMD said that other places were likely to continue to witness dry weather.
