The chaos of celebration has set in, literally, on IIMA campus. On Thursday, hundreds of students from academic institutes all over India thronged the premier B-school to be part of its annual cultural festival ‘Chaos’.

The main attraction on the first day of Chaos 2013 was an exhibition on 100 years of Bollywood. The organizers chose the theme - ‘Tribute to Indian Cinema” to commemorate the completion of 100 years of Indian cinema.

“Irrespective of age group and gender, Hindi films interest a majority of people in India. The exhibition put up at the IIMA gives a glimpse of the evolution of the Hindi film industry. Attractive posters give a peep into its glorious past and also show the competitive spirit of contemporary Hindi movies,” said Ronak, one of the visitors at the event.

Dr Ashish Nanda, director of the institute, and city commissioner of police Shivanand Jha inaugurated the event in the evening.

The inaugural day began with a screening of Goonga Pahelwan. There were events like Pot Pourri and Halka Fulka - an event to test knowledge of various subjects.

Other interesting events at Chaos included a performance by a rock band - Coshish, a travel and living quiz, a street dance competition called Battle it Out and a group dance competition – Xuberance.

On Friday, DJ Aqeel will perform at the festival. A filmmaking workshop has also been organised at the IIMA, said a note from students at the institute.
