Amdavadis will soon be able to avail medical facilities at an affordable price at the new hospital that has come up on the campus of VS Hospital at Paldi. Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has built the 17-floor building with 1,500 beds at Rs 528 crore. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the hospital on January 17.

The hospital will also comprise a helipad and every floor of the building will be like a minihospital.

The hospital will have a bunch of automated facilities. The administration has computerised almost everything, starting from the entry to registering patients.

The patients will be given MRN (Medical Record Number) cards. The reception area will be large with a sitting capacity of 1,500 people. What’s different is that 80% of its beds will be allocated for general wards.

The Out Patient Departments (OPDs) will have 90 consultation rooms with 20 specialists, spreaded across eight pods.

“The hospital will surely save time and money of patients. There are some systems we have introduced in the hospital which are included for the first time in government run hospitals,” said Kuldeep Arya, deputy municipal commissioner, AMC.
