There are over 100 BJP and Congress leaders each in the Jasdan constituency, comprising 2.5 lakh voters living across 103 villages and three towns. Including bigshots from both parties, more than two dozen MLAs have been camping in the constituency. The fight intensified after the results were declared in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh polls.

The BJP's war footing seems more intense as the party has engaged three ministers, four general secretaries of BJP, hundreds of workers. The saffronites are worried now with the Congress' moral boost. The BJP was confident for a candidate and minister Kunvarji Bavaliya recording a huge lead against Congress candidate.

A senior party leader, on condition of anonymity, said, "We conducted a fresh survey after the poll results in the three states. We were confident on the lead of 15 to 17 thousand votes against Congress. The tally has gone down to 5,000 after the latest situation. That could turn into disaster too."

There is a Koli community which is dominating in the region with total of 46% voters population. There are 26% votes from Patel community, 8% Muslims and 8% other OBC community voters are also there.

"We were sure that 80% Koli voters would support BJP because of Bavaliya's dominance on the community. However, the latest indications show that 15% of votes might shift to Congress. The Patel community will have to focus." Meanwhile, the war of words between two leaders became worse.

Congress candidate Avchar Nakiya said, "BJP is so afraid that CM's wife Anjali Rupani has also been camping here. Bavaliya is on a back foot now as voters will elect me. Of course, there is change in wave after election results of three states."

On the other side, BJP candidate and cabinet minister in Gujarat Kunvarji Bavaliya said, "Nakia is my chela (disciple) and I am his guru. I have kept my tricks secret. Congress also has been trying hard with hundreds of leaders. My win is certain."

Meanwhile, Hardik Patel has been indirectly active in this region and held a rally addressing the farmers on Thursday. Patel raised his voice against the Gujarat government's policy and claimed that the government was not concerned for sake of farmers in state.
