A total of 264 CCTV cameras have been installed at all examination centres across the state.

Over 85,000 students will appear for Class 10 and 12 state board examination from Ahmedabad beginning March 7. The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) on Tuesday announced an action plan for the SSC and HSC Science and general stream exams. Nearly 18 lakh students will appear for the exams from the state.
Officials said that special flying squads, supervisory staff and videographers will be deputed at these exam centres to curb malpractice. Xerox centres near schools have been directed to remain shut on examination days. To curb mass copying in centres, the entire supervisory staff including teachers and even policemen will be brought in from outside the centre, so that no local can influence the examination process.
A total of 264 CCTV cameras have been installed at all examination centres across the state. For the first time this year, CCTV cameras will be equipped with a voice recorder. These cameras will be installed at new examination centres. The board also declared five sensitive centres in Ahmedabad rural and city with one sensitive centre in Bapunagar in Ahmedabad.
More than 100 have applied to write for the blind in Ahmedabad city and 49 applications for Ahmedabad rural. 'Paschatap peti' or redemption boxes will be kept outside the halls, for students who have brought copy chits to dump them before entering the exam hall. Special seating arrangements have been made for disabled children on the ground floors.
