5,400 cops on toes for Vibrant Gujarat Summit, PM Narendra Modi visit

Special security arrangements have been made for the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2019 at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar from Jan 18 to 20. A total of 4,000 police officers will be pressed into action for the event. Besides, dedicated teams will manage traffic and parking at the venue.

Special security arrangements have been made for the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2019 at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar from Jan 18 to 20. A total of 4,000 police officers will be pressed into action for the event. Besides, dedicated teams will manage traffic and parking at the venue.

Another 1,400 police personnel will be deployed for PM's visit to Ahmedabad for the inauguration of the new building of VS hospital on Thursday.

At the Sardar Patel International and Domestic airport, more than 150 police officers have been deployed for security and special arrangements have been made by the Ahmedabad Traffic Police Department to avoid congestion. Traffic cops will make sure that the VVIP guests arriving at the airport get a clear road and other routine passengers do not suffer.

As per the senior police officers, several teams of ATS and Crime Branch have also been deployed in the city. Moreover, cops in civil clothes will also be deployed, and women police officers will be present as well.

During the PM's visit on January 17, eight routes will be closed for commuters after 1 pm and the traffic will be diverted to alternate routes.
