2 shooters held in Jayanti Bhanushali murder case

Cops arrested two sharpshooters who were wanted in the Jayanti Bhanushali murder case from a hotel in the Dang district of South Gujarat on Saturday.

Senior police officers of the Anti-Terrorism Squad had specific information about the two accused who were reportedly hiding in the Dang district and a team was sent to retrieve them.

The accused were brought to Ahmedabad and were later handover to the Special Investigating Team(SIT) for investigation. The officials have not revealed the names of the accused yet.

As per senior police officials, they have arrested the two sharpshooters who were involved in the killing of Bhanushali and further investigation is on.

On Tuesday the Bhachau court issued an arrest warrant against, Chhabil Patel the former BJP MLA, who is suspected to the main accused behind the Bhanushali murder case. The court issued the warrant under section 70 of Criminal procedure code against Patel and considered the Railway police argument that Patel has not been cooperating with the probe

On February 11, an audio clip of Patel went viral, where he claimed that he is in abroad and is innocent in the matter. Apart from that, he is ready to cooperate with the police officials in the case once he returns back to India.

Murder case

On January 7, Jayanti Bhanushali, a former BJP MLA from Abdasa was shot dead by two shooters in the Sayajinagri Express train. After killing Bhanushali the accused pulled the chain and fled. During the investigation of cops, it was revealed that Chhabil Patel and Manish Goswami are the two main conspirators behind the case.
