Prime minister Narendra Modi will release a commemorative gold coin and stamp in honour of Shrimad Rajchandraji, the spiritual guru of Mahatma Gandhi, on June 29 to mark the latter’s 150th birth anniversary. The event will take place at Gandhi Ashram.
Chief minister Vijay Rupani and founder of Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur, Gurudev Rakesh too will be present at the event along with members of various organisations.
Abhay Jasani, president of Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur, said, “Gandhiji met Shrimadji for the first time in Mumbai, upon his return from England as a barrister in 1891.” Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur has organised a year-long celebration with multiple activities. They have depicted the relationship of Gandhiji and Shrimadji through a play which has completed 600 shows in 216 days.
