Two Indian students held for sexual assault in Oz
In an incident that could aggravate the tense situation following racial attacks on Indian students, two Indian youths have been arrested for sexually assaulting a 17-year-old Australian girl on a Melbourne-Sydney train here.

Sukhjinder Singh, 22, and Amarjit Singh, 28, in Australia on student visas, have been charged with aggravated sexual assault and refused bail, a media report quoting the police said.

The girl from Gosford boarded the train at Melbourne and was woken up by the duo at 3 am when the train was travelling through southern New South Wales, the police said.

“She was then sexually assaulted before she broke free and sought assistance from rail staff who informed the police,” the report said. The girl received treatment at Goulburn Hospital and was offered counselling, the police said.
