Evoke 2009, the annual fest of Thakur Institute of Management Studies and Research (TIMSR) was centred around the theme 'leadership' and ideas that can change India.
Nearly 700 participants from different B schools all across Mumbai participated in the event. KV Shridhar (national creative director, Leo Burnett) was the chief guest for the fest.
His transition from a mere billboard painter to the national creative director of Leo Burnett, inspired the young students. "Creativity is the only way to succeed in life," he said .
This was visible in the MBA student fraternity’s flagship event ‘SKIT- Ideas that can change India'. With a total of 11 teams performing on the first day of Evoke,the judges (Alok Jha, Pradeep Shukla, Ashok Bhagat) had a tough job on their hands .
Followed by the Skit, the next event was 'Photo Gallery’. Teams showcased theissues facing India along with the vision of solving them. 'Haat Bazaar’ the next event of this magnificent fest. Its location and ethnic lookadded colour to the fest withstalls resembling a tribal mela of Rajasthan.
'Management Game' was the last event for the day and nearly 17 B schools all across Mumbai participated in this event. This event tested the future managers’team work and coordination adaptability with their co members. The enthusiasm displayed was humongous.
'Mock Stock' was the first event on the second day of Evoke where the bull was held by its horns. The biggest winner and the biggest loser were the two awards given for this event. Then came one of the most awaited events, 'Dance'. Participants bedazzled the stage with their performances.
Last but not the least was the lightened ramp with gorgeous models walking it with all their grace, attitude and exuberance, 'A'La Mode'. The senior farewell performance thrilled the audience with excitement. The theme was innovation.
The event came to an end with Viva College emerging as the B school with the maxmum participation and Swyamsiddhi College being awarded the best B school award. Kohojkar, director, TIMSR inspired students to take Evoke 2010 to the next level by involving B schools across the country too.
