Nashik: Three students from Ashoka Universal School, Nashik, will soon go to the US to represent India at an auto design competition called the 'A World in Motion Challenge'.
The students have been selected from an interschool competition which was held in Pune. Palak Nimani, Varun Kasat and Aditya Londhe, all Std V students from Ashoka Universal School made a team named Zenith Technocracy and built a model vehicle named AERO which got selected.

"This competition is all about creating interest in students to be future automotive engineers and designers. We catch them young and motivate them to work on models," explained Sumit Gupta, competition coordinator from Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M).
The students were given training in M&M, taught to build automobiles, its parts, general physics, functional and aesthetic abilities of an automobile.

"It is a 20-hour activity, where even parents and teachers with students get an insight into what they are supposed to do and how," said Lonavath Dayanand from M&M.
The 'A World in Motion Challenge' is a competition where students from schools across the world participate.

"We learnt team work, how to be creative in short time and to use concepts clearly," said Palak.

The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and the auto giant Mahindra and Mahindra have encouraged more school students to participate in the auto design competition at various levels.
