Sunil Chavan, the deputy director of school education, Mumbai region, simplifies the admission process.
Once students are allotted a seat, what should be their next step?
They should immediately take admissions to the college by making a payment of Rs50, and then wait for the betterment option.
If students have not got a seat according to their preference?
Students should verify the copy of their form with the cut-off list of colleges. If they are not meritorious enough to get admission in a particular college, they should not complain. They may or may not get admission in a better college of their choice.
Can a student who has taken admission in a Commerce course change the stream later?
This year, we have offered students an option of mixed preferences. If a student’s fifth choice is Commerce in college A, and third is Science in college B, the student can change stream after the second list if he is getting a betterment option.
What about students who have not filled the online form?
Their admissions will be done after August 30. Even admissions for students who are allowed to keep term (ATKT) and students from international schools who will be getting their results late will have to apply offline to colleges with vacant seats.
Will more seats be available for students?
There are some such proposals with the state government. They will be approved if there is a need for more students to be accommodated. However, we do not think that there will be any need this year. There are enough seats.
