Those who have not been able to take the online CAT are waiting pensively for rescheduled dates. And those who have been lucky enough to complete the test successfully are getting sms-es and emails from Prometric, telling them about their “rescheduled exam” dates.

Arks Srinivas, director, Triumphant Institute of Management Education (TIME), an MBA training centre, told DNA, “Several of our students have complained to us that they had been sent notification about rescheduled exam dates, in spite of them having successfully attempted the online test. They now fear that they had not submitted their tests properly as there was no one to guide them at the centres.”

There have been many complaints from students, who were unable to take the test because of technical glitches or some other problem, about not getting their slots rescheduled. The IIMs and the Prometric, however, said that 62% of the candidates affected on Saturday and Sunday had been provided with new appointments. “The affected candidates have been allotted slots within this year’s test session. We have also deployed several technicians to assess the labs. Additional training has been provided to the staff monitoring the labs,” Charlie Keman, chief operating officer, Prometric, said.

Regarding sms-es and emails being sent to the students who had given the exam, informing them about rescheduled dates, the Prometric said that they should ignore the emails and sms-es.

Meanwhile, problems resurfaced at a lab in Saboo Siddik College of Engineering, Byculla, in the afternoon session on Thursday. Some 40 candidates were unable to attempt the online CAT because of technical glitches.

“We were told around 4.30pm that our test has been cancelled. The lab I was in developed some technical problem. They took down our registration IDs and phone numbers in order to reschedule the test,” Mayank Joshi, a candidate, said.
