As part of their golden jubilee celebrations, a programme for which is to be held on Friday, the Shreyas Foundation will organise functions that mark the beginning of a new students’ team carrying forward the school’s activities for the next academic year.

This handing over ceremony is an elaborate one and is observed with a lot of grandeur.

Principal Dr Vaishali Shah said that the chief guest for the function will be Ravin Vyas, an alumni. Apart from the chief guest's address and the address by Leena Sarabhai, the ceremony of handing over new responsibilities to the new group will also be made.

"The school has separate committees like the hygiene committee and agriculture committee, among others'', said Dr Shah.

She said that the old captains will hand over their responsibility through the passing of a `mashaal', and the new committee will be assuming their job with a new set of people.

Dr Shah said that the whole handing over ceremony is through nomination and selection, and that there is no election for these committees.

Apart from this, there will also be presentations by students of various standards of the school.

Dr Shah said that the students and staff have been practising for the grand day since quite some time. She said that the students have been assigned responsibilities to see to it that programme is a grand success.

"Our celebrations are not the traditional types, with a lot of cultural programmes,'' she said.

Dr Shah added that the students will list out some of the achievements of the school, and thank the alumni for their support towards the school.

Also, during her speech, Leena Sarabhai will list out some of the achievements and contributions of leading citizens toward the formation of Shreyas Foundation in its present form.
