Amid traditional fervour, Shreyas Foundation celebrated its 50th anniversary at its scenic premises on Friday. The celebrations were marked by the lighting of the mashal and formation of new student committees.
The chief guest at the function was one of the alumni of the school, Ravin Vyas, whowas also part of the lighting of the mashaal.
Addressing the gathering of students, alumuni and parents, one of the founders of Shreyas, Leenaben Sarabhai, thanked the parents for their support. She listed out some of the achievements of the school and the mission of Shreyas Foundation.Describing the school as one which was different from other schools in the city, she said that the sprawling campus and the various activities that were being held were a testimony to the kind of exposure that the students were having in this school.
She pointed out to the parents that the curriculum at Shreyas would enable their wards to make a niche for themselves in society and they were bound to make a positive impact on society because of the kind of foundation that they were getting at the school.
She said that at Shreyas Foundation the activities also aimed at
ensuring that leadership values were imbibed in the students and they grow up to be confident individuals with strong social values.
The 95-year-old Leenaben also pointed out to the scholars that as students they should start to think differently. The Shreyas founder also pointed out to the museums in the school premises and the kind of activities that were conducted there for the benefit and knowledge of the students. She said that the maintenance and cleanliness in the campus were also a habit with which the students were growing up. Hence they would learn to love and protect and take care of their environment.
