New Delhi: Racial attacks may be the burning issue engaging Indian students looking forward to study abroad but Scotland educationists are leaving no stone unturned to woo Indian students by projecting it as the ultimate destination for overseas studies.

"I certainly hope that racial attacks would not happen in Scotland. These incidents are possible anywhere in the world, but we are proud of ourselves on being tolerant and welcoming towards other races," Commercial Director of University of Dundee, Thomas Rattray, said.

Overseas education is seeing a reformist wave as students are breaking free of the 'MBA' stereotype and opting for other streams as well.

"There is a sophisticated shift towards other courses like law and history. Even in the MBA arena, students are opting for specialised MBA's, like in the energy sector" he added.

A research indicates that above 90 per cent of international students in Scotland feel secure there. A range of scholarships like 'Scotland's Saltire Scholarships' and others are offered to international students pursuing post graduation in Scotland, a release from the university said.
