Students of Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU) celebrated the Techno Cult festival, 2010 in style with robotic event highlights such as 'Pele's bot' a robot football contest, Robothon, a robot car race and 'Poseidon' a robot boat time-trail race.
Part of the day-long festival was the essay and story writing competitions and the 'The Amazing Race' which saw scores of students participate in a search for new objects.
This event along with the much awaited debate competitions, were a huge craze among the students. The event involved students competing against their opponent teams verbally with full vigor, and was a much applauded one.
In addition, a singing competition, 'Alaap' followed by the poster making competition and a performance by the rock band, Antriksh, made it an evening to remember.
The last two days of the festival, had exciting events such as the 'roadies hunt' and the race finals. However, the event that caught everyone's attention was the selection round of the win for the title of Mr and Ms Flare. Even as the show was on, other parts of the university had been involved in the poetry writing and recitation contest, which had one of the attractions as being the LAN gaming contest.
Along side these events were also the DotA and Counter Strike CS contestants that saw a majority of 11 teams fight for victory. Team DA IICT was declared winners towards the end.
