A student of National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (NIT-Rourkela) was arrested today for allegedly harassing a girl of Sundergarh town in Orissa.
Sundargarh town police Inspector-in-charge, Sujata Panda said, "Rajesh Behura, a second year student in electrical branch, was arrested after receiving complaint from the girl's father."
Behura had sent text messages to the girl's mobile expressing his love for her frequently and she felt harassed, she said.
He was later produced before a local court which remanded him to jail custody for two weeks, Panda said.
In another incident, Ramswarup (24) of Beleigarh in Rajgangpur police limit was arrested yesterday for kidnapping a minor tribal girl of his village with a promise to marry her.
