DNA correspondent Dayananda Meitei has bagged the media award given by the National Innovation Foundation (NIF). Meitei has been selected for the award for disseminating information about creative people from unorganised sector.
The award will be conferred on him by the NIF chairperson Dr RA Mashelkar, at the Fifth National Grassroots Award Function of NIF in New Delhi on November 18. President Pratibha Devisingh Patil will be the guest of honour at the function.
Bringing innovators to the limelight and highlighting their extraordinary works, Meitei has reported to DNA a number of stories on grassroots innovators. The media award is being given by NIF to journalists for being part of its grassroots innovations movement.
At the event, around 80 grassroots innovators of different age groups and from different parts of the country will also be awarded for their unique works of innovation. These awards will be given away by President Patil.
