Ten people shared twenty four gold medals this time. Out of the ten gold medalists, seven were women.

The highlight of the seventeenth annual convocation of The National Law School of India was a student, who was recognised for her outstanding performance in academics.
Sushila P Rao, the university topper bagged sixteen gold medals in different categories. This Delhi-based girl is the daughter of an economist and an IAS officer. She plans to pursue higher studies at the Oxford University. She is also the winner of the prestigious Rhodes scholarship. and plans to continue her studies at the Balliol college.

She won gold medals for Environmental Law, Law and Economics, Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, Business and Corporate Law, Professional Ethics and Public Law, Criminal Law, Clinical Courses and Contract Law. She is the best all-rounder female graduate of NLS this year.

The convocation marked many interesting moments. The Vice Chancellor, Dr Venkata Rao had to take a break while announcing the medals of the topper. He took a sip of water and then continued announcing the gold medals that Sushila had won.

Anil Kakodkar, the Secretary, Department of Atomic Energy and Chairman Atomic Energy Commission, the chief guest addressed the gathering. He spoke about the role of lawyers, and how science and technology, and law can help the country progress.
Girls outshone  the boys.

Ten people shared twenty four gold medals this time. Out of the ten gold medalists, seven were women. Sanhita Ambast, the second rank holder received six gold medals.

The other gold medal winners are Sonam Kathuria, who secured the third rank, Dhruv Nath, who won a medal for sports, Aditya Bandyopadhyay, who won the Best Student Advocate medal, Poongkhulali Balasubramanian who won the Nobel Student Award for Legal Services Clinic, Rakshithaa Mahesh, Raghavendra Patnaik, Ameya Kilara, and Suchita Saigal.

More than three hundred students were awarded degrees at the convocation, which was held at Jnana Jyothy Convention Centre at the Central College campus. The degrees were awarded to students of BA, LLB(Hons), LLM, MBL(Master of Business Law), MPhil, Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Law and Ethics, Post-Graduate Diploma in Environmental Law and Post Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Post-Graduate Diploma in Human Rights Law.
