About 240 students of IIT-Rajasthan, who are currently undertaking classes at IIT-Kanpur, will from next year get their new place of study — Mungilal Bangad Engineering college in Jodhpur.

A temporary arrangement for residential purpose is also being made for the students and the faculty at a Central government hospital colony in Jodhpur.

Talking to PTI-Bhasha, Sanjeev Kashalkar, the IIT-Kanpur Registrar who is also looking after IIT-Rajasthan for the past two years, said that Mungilal Bangad Engineering college is a 60-year-old prestigious institute.

The new batch of students for the next academic session of IIT-Rajasthan will also join at MBE college, he said.

Land for the campus of IIT-Rajasthan has already been identified on Jodhpur-Nagaur road, but completion of the building is expected to take a long time. IIT-Rajasthan students are from 2008 studying at IIT-Kanpur.
