JBIMS pupils upbeat about placement prospect

After good summer internship placements, the mood is again optimistic among students of Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS) with 30% of the batch getting pre-placement offers (PPOs) and pre-placement interviews (PPIs), way before final placement actually begins in February next year. Around 120 students are part of the campus placement.

“Around 30% have already received either PPOs or PPIs from the companies they had interned with earlier this year. This not only reflects on the quality of the students and the confidence the companies have in them, but also the amount of weightage that’s given to internships by both,” said Kaushal Gandhi, student and placement committee member. The average compensation being offered is also up by at least 30% as compared to last year. Further, most of the regular recruiters have confirmed their participation during the campus placement process next year.

The pre-placement offers and interviews have come from diverse sectors and profiles, including sales and marketing, credit risk analysis, corporate finance, treasury, business development and brand management among others. “The good PPOs and PPIs indicate that the economy is getting back on track. The companies may not recruit as much as they did during boom time, but the positive response is a very healthy sign,” said Gandhi.
