Bangalore: For the first time in Indian history, around 50 top American universities are arriving in India to participate in the Indo-American Education Summit on academic collaborations scheduled to be conducted in November, 2009 in New Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore.
The Bangalore session will be held at Chancery Pavilion, Residency Road on November 13.
The unique event will be attended by provosts, deans and other officers from around 50 American universities. More than a hundred Indian educational institutions and organisations interested in academic collaborations with foreign universities are expected to participate in the summit.
The academic collaboration endeavours include distance education and partnership programmes. A partnership between the American universities and Indian institutions will be arranged so that interested and qualified Indian students who complete 12th standard and graduate programmes in India will get direct admission to various graduate and post-graduate programmes in America. This will spare them from the stress of having to prepare for the highly competitive entrance examinations in India to get admission to US varsities.
