The ministry of health and family welfare has recognised all the post-graduate degrees awarded by the Maharashtra Health Science University in Nashik. The notification to this effect, released by the ministry in October 2007, was received by the university recently, informed vice-chancellor Dr Mrudula Phadke.

The notification comes under the power of sub-section 2 of section 12 of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956. This notification brings respite to all the PG students studying in different faculties of MD, MS, Diploma, Super specialty DM, MCH and other post graduate courses. The MUHS has been trying to get recognition for these courses since October 31, 2005.
