Government schemes baffle TET candidates

Several of them said that questions regarding the same were the toughest.

Government schemes baffle TET candidates

Though the TET paper was, by and large, easy, the questions regarding state government’s different schemes baffled many a Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) aspirants. Students claimed that they were unaware of several questions related to the schemes floated by state government.

The students had no clue about state government schemes like metro rail project and ATVT which stands for Aapno Taluko Vibrant Taluko. “I only know what ATKT is, but I had no idea about ATVT!” exclaimed Manoj Solanki, a B.Ed student from Surendranagar.

Even his friends from his home-town knew nothing about this scheme which was launched recently by CM Narendra Modi. “It seems they wanted us to know everything about state government-run schemes. I wish I had collected information before hand and prepared accordingly” said Rakesh Prajapati, a student from Patan.

The General Knowledge section had 25 questions in total, 6 to 7 of which were directly or indirectly related to some or the other government schemes. Question no 6 tested students’ knowledge about the location of Mahatma Mandir.

One of the aspirants, Girish Patel, said, “I marked Porbandar as the answer to Mahatma Mandir’s location. I realised only after the test that the answer was Gandhinagar.” He further added, “I never thought that so many questions related to government-run schemes would be asked.”

Moreover, questions like who was the brand ambassador of Gujarat tourism and the two cities to be connected through the proposed metro-rail project also caught several candidates unawares. “One of the options to the ambassador question was Narendra Modi and so I ticked it. I later came to know that Amitabh Bachchan is the correct answer” said a student from Nadiad.
