Engineering & management top choices at education fair in Bangalore

Students from Bangalore looking at studying abroad trickled in at the IDP’s US and Canada Education Fair, over the weekend, well-prepared with their transcripts, marks as and questions. The questions were particularly oriented towards funding the course and scholarships.

The top choices were engineering and management courses. “We have received numerous queries for engineering studies. This year, we are offering a new course at the graduate level — Master of Science Energy and Materials. We found students going back and forth with their choices because the term engineering is missing from the title. It is not an engineering course, although the course does offer some engineering subjects,” said Andrew J Rapin, coordinator of international admissions at Saginaw Valley State University.

There was a similar case at the kiosk of the Colorado State University, where engineering and management studies seemed popular. Although they have started a course called Masters of Arts in Policing, it didn’t receive the kind of response that PhD course in Engineering Management did.

“Students are focused and ask well-prepared questions. They are concerned about the university that offers the programme and whether it would fit them well,” said Michelle Kowalsky, representative from Western New England University.
Fifteen universities from USA and Canada took part in the education fair.
