The help to hunt an ideal articleship, job with reputed companies and firms in Ahmedabad or even looking for good books on chartered accountancy will soon be just a click away for the students pursuing Chartered Accountancy (CA). The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI)'s Ahmedabad chapter will launch its website with additional features and more utilities to help its members.

Chairman of the ICAI's A’bad chapter Devang Doctor shared his views as ICAI hosted western region's convocation at IIMA on Friday. President of ICAI G Ramaswamy who also attended the convocation said the institute is working hard to restrain dummy articleships. "We have already conducted pilot study in two small regions to check trend of dummy article. We will ensure students who do not do their articleship and still manage to get acknowledgement, will not get their certificates," he said.

He also said ICAI will soon modify its module and launch a training session for independent directors in the company as sometimes they do not have in-depth knowledge about the subject. He added that for CAs, they will also focus on training like communication skills and personality development.

Talking about the revamped portal of A'bad chapter, one of the coordinator CA Aniket Talati said the website will be used only for members and some features would allow non-members to use them. He said there will be directory of ICAI Ahmedabad chapter member. "There will also be an area where companies and firms will post their requirement to hire CAs on portal. This will be visible to members and aspirants and so they will be able to respond to it accordingly," he said.

In the convocation, 172 CAs from western region comprising Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa were given degrees. Apart from them, 50 students who have done certificate programme with ICAI were also given certificates.
