At the third cluster of the final placements at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA), corporate bigwigs like Mahindra, RG Group,Ingersoll Rand and banks like Yes Bank, Reserve Bank of India, HDFC apart from others recruited students from the country's top B- school.
According to information from the institute, the group discussionstarted on Monday at IIMA and students were given job offers after interviews by the companies.
Ingersoll Rand offered two roles, general management and their 'Entrepreneur Creation Program'. In the latter, students will be placed on a fast-track learning path. At the end of two years, they will be provided seed capital for their own businesses for Ingersoll Rand products and solutions. The firm made a total of four offers.
Dr Arvind Agrawal, president - Corporate Development and Human Resources at RPG Group, said, "We were very happy with the high calibre of students and we hired more students that we had initially intended to. We opened up new positions in the company as and when we met suitable candidates. We were able to take quick decisions as top management from across our businesses had flown down to IIMA for the recruitment process".
Wrigley, HT Media and Welspun were some of the firms that offered marketing jobs to students. Sanjay Gopinath, director (HR) at Wrigley, said, "We found that students were focused and clear about their careers. We were impressed with their multi-faceted personalities. We feel that the curriculum and tough deadlines at IIMA have made students very good at multi-tasking".
The financial services cohort had recruiters such as RBI, Yes Bank, HDFC, Crisil and JM Financial. Yes Bank extended five offers to students. The third cluster also featured recruiters from the information technology sector. HCL and Mindtree were the firms that participated in the placement process.The fourth cluster is scheduled for February 26.
