AIIM’s first batch gets jobs with huge salaries

Adani Institute of Infrastructure Management (AIIM) placed all of its Post-Graduate Programme in Infrastructure Management (PGPIM) students who opted to be in the placement process.

The students belonged to the first PGPIM batch of the institute. The students have received on an average double the salary than what most of them had been earning at the time of their admission to the course.  AIIM, which turned one this year, had taken 21 students for its first batch of PGPIM course. It is a one year full-time course.

Giving details about the placement and future plans of the institute Bakul Dholakia, director of AIIM said, "The most important thing is that in the first year of the institute, we have been able to provide lateral placements to our students in the respective organisations. So, they need not start their career in management as a graduate trainee."

He said that of the total 21 students in the first graduating batch, 20 had opted to be in the placement process. "These 20 students had 33 job offers from various companies. Ten of them had more than one job offers on hand," said Dholakia.

The average age and experience of students of the batch is 28 years and 5 years respectively.  Their average CTC at the time of joining the programme in September-2009 was Rs5.3 lakh per annum.

"The average salary of 20 students, placed across various organisations, is Rs10.8 lakh per annum, which represents more than 100% increase in their average salary at the time of joining the course. The highest salary offered is Rs17.5 lakh, while the lowest is Rs7.2 lakh," he said. Dholakia said 40% of the batch has been placed in the salary range of more than Rs12 lakh per annum.

Twenty eight companies participated in the recruitment process and made 33 job offers.

Reliance Infrastructure, IDFC Projects, IRB Infrastructure, Larsen & Toubro, Marg Group, GMR Group, Adani Group, Torrent Power, Shapoorji Pallonji, Hajira-LNG, PWC, SBI-Capital, GSPC, Gujarat Tourism Project Development Corporation & Linde Engineers were some of the prominent companies that participated in the campus recruitment.

Ten students were recruited to six companies of Adani Group while four have joined group companies of Reliance ADAG.
