Preparing for NEET, JET and CET is now just a mouse click away in Jammu and Kashmir.

The J&K government has unveiled one of the biggest e-coaching and e-learning initiatives to provide quality coaching and comprehensive solutions to students aspiring to appear in NEET, JEE and CET.

Under this initiative, IT-enabled learning material, including video lectures, e-books and written notes is available free of cost in the government libraries across the state to facilitate students to crack the NEET, JEE, CET and other competitive examinations.

The material has been prepared by 100 IIT toppers of the country, which is now available in public libraries across the state. The procedure for accessing the material has been simplified to attract more students. Students only need to provide an identity proof to get the membership so that they will be provided all material for competitive exams free of cost.

“It is a revolutionary step in our education system. A student can simply walk in and get himself or herself registered to access the material prepared by 100 IIT toppers of competitive exams.  There are computers, tabs and printed material which is provided free of cost. The only thing is that they have to sit in the libraries to access the material. It is not meant for taking home,” Mukhtar-ul-Aziz, director Libraries, Jammu and Kashmir, told DNA.

Nearly 2,500 plus hours of video lectures, 75,000 questions with answers, 150 e-books and hard books will be made available. This facility has been made available in the libraries so that students can prepare for the exams in a better manner,” he added.

What has added another dimension to the whole exercise is that the students can also get in touch with mentors online, for any queries. “Suppose a student wants to answers to queries, s/he can seek help from the online mentors at no cost. And these mentors are IIT toppers,” said Mukhtar.

There are around 148 government libraries in Jammu and Kashmir. Initially, 30 libraries will have the e-coaching facility. Gradually the facility will be extended to other libraries.

“There is another feature of this exercise. If a student wants to access his preparedness, he can opt for an online exam,” said Mukhtar.
