Top US course comes to IIT-B

In a move that could please students, starting 2015, one of United States' prestigious universities will offer an executive MBA in the city along with the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B).

IIT-B and Washington University in St Louis (WUSTL) agreed to jointly offer the EMBA programme from January 2015. This was announced on Saturday during the Corporate Leaders Conclave at St Louis from October 19 to 20.

The course will be offered at the IIT-B campus in collaboration with the Olin School of Business, WUSTL. The executive MBA program of Washington university is claimed to be the second-best in the US.

The Corporate Leaders Conclave also saw the launch of IIT-B-WUSTL-Corporate Network, which is aimed at bringing together the leaders and faculty members of the two institutions and several corporate giants from India and the US.

“IIT-B and WUSTL have active research collaborations in areas related to energy and environment. The joint research seeks to address global problems by bringing together outstanding faculty members and students of these two institutions, along with the industry,” said Prof Devang Khakhar, director, IIT-B.

IIT-B also plans to establish a research park on its campus. It will be supported by the government of India.
