Considering it as a special case, Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has decided to provide photocopies of answer sheets within two days to the students of Pune division who demand it. The decision comes in the wake of protests by students and parents alleging discrepancies in the higher secondary certificate (HSC) results that were declared on May 30.

State board chairman Sarjerao Jadhav, said, “We have decided to provide photocopies of answer sheets as soon as the applications are received. We have directed the divisional board accordingly. There were protests outside the Pune division office with parents alleging that the paper assessment work was improper and the internal marks of students were not added in the final result.”

The parents’ major demands were to get photocopies of answer sheets without charge, the board to put them online and admission process to medical, engineering and pharmacy colleges be postponed.

Pune division received about 600 applications for photocopies of answer sheets within four days of the announcement of HSC results. June 19 is the last date for applying for photocopies of answer sheets.

“We are bending the state board rules for the benefit of students. Normally, it takes at least a month for the photocopies to arrive,”  said Pune divisional chairman Sunil Chauhan.
