In yet another goof-up, the Mumbai University, in the result sheet of a number of students marked absent those students who had appeared in the fifth semester of final year BA examination, in October 2013. The result was declared online on the university's website last week and more than a dozen students from the city are victimised.
City students are facing harrowing times as they have been running to their examination centres to Mumbai University's Kalina campus to get the mistakes corrected, allegedly committed by the university. The result which was published by the university last week has been carrying more than one mistakes that have left students in dilemma. "I had appeared in all six papers and the result is showing that I was absent in the examination," said a student, adding that they had followed all procedures which included getting attendance sheet from the examination centre to submitting it at the university office in Kalina. Now, the university has asked them to wait for 15 days to get the correct status of their result.
However, students are apprehensive as the date to fill the form to Allow To Keep Term (ATKT), is February 20 and they will not be able to fill the form if they fail in any paper. "I am sure that I will clear all papers. In case I do not, I will lose the option for ATKT," said another student.
The result of a BA student shows she opted Information Technology as one of the papers while the actual Current Affairs paper is missing. "I had appeared in five papers out of six, including Current Affairs. But the result is showing that I was absent for the examination," said the student.
The marks list that came to the college on Monday also has mistakes. "My mark sheet has not come and I am scared that the problem will continue," she said. She will also lose the opportunity for ATKT. "I am not sure what marks I will get in Current Affairs and subsequently I will lose the option," she added.
Most of the students have also alleged that they do not get right treatment when they go university campus for their work. "They do not listen our problems and they are busy in office gossip," said a student. No one from the university was available to comment on the issue.
