After a recent baseline test paper leak, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) education department found out in an enquiry that one of the school teachers had uploaded last year's question paper on his blog, which was then being circulated.

The schools in the city conducted the second baseline test in October for Class I-VIII students, for first language, and Maths. According to reports, the test papers of both the subjects were available in south Mumbai at various photocopy centres for Rs20 to Rs40. After reading the reports, the BMC's education department sent a few education inspectors to city schools to conduct an investigation.

Mahesh Palkar, education officer, BMC education department, said, "We sent education inspectors to schools to check about the paper leak. They found that one of the teacher's had uploaded last year's paper on his blog. Since the year was not mentioned on the question paper, someone printed it and distributed it everywhere to make money. The teacher was warned to not upload such papers on his blog. A detailed report on this enquiry is yet to be prepared."

The maiden baseline test was successfully conducted across the state in 2015, and this is the second year. The exam is aimed to check whether students have been able to grasp the concepts taught in the previous year. Most of the teachers' organisations have demanded the education department to make the question papers of baseline test available online instead of sending it manually to prevent paper leak.
