IIMC to set up largest audio-visual training centre

India’s premier journalism institute, Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), which was founded in 1965, is all set to open Asia’s biggest centre for audio and visual training in Mumbai’s Film City.   

IIMC’s Director General KG Suresh said that the project, in association with The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), will be operational within two years. He also said that 1,600 trained professionals will enter the workforce annually. A budget of Rs 200 crore has been fixed for the project. The institute will reportedly be named National Centre for Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics.
