A first-of-its-kind design portfolio event is being hosted by Lokusdesign in collaboration with MIT Institute of Design (MITID), supported by Worksmith and design platform Behance. The event will take place on May 18 at the MCCIA (Mahratta Chamber of Commerce Industries & Agriculture), ICC complex, in Pune.

The event ‘Behance portfolio review’ aims at creating a platform to remove the barriers between talent and opportunity, giving commercial artists, freelancers, students, academia and industry experts a chance to collaborate.

Candidates are invited to share their portfolios in terms of branding and graphic design, packaging design and retail and space design. The top 20 portfolios will be reviewed by experts from the industry.

Throwing light on the event Shekhar Badve, founder director (marketing and strategy), said, “Our aim is to promote fresh talent, giving them a chance to work on some of the top brands in the industry. With global design firms entering the Indian markets, it is important that the Indian designers are equipped to face the growing competition.”

Dean of MITID, Anant Chakradeo said, “The portfolio review event gives students a chance to collaborate with the experts in the industry to understand the global and national trends in order to expand their horizons.” The Behance network is an international online portfolio platform for creative professionals across multiple industries, including photography, graphic design, illustration, and fashion. It is a platform for creative people and discover creative work.
