While several schools will have special morning assembly sessions today, some came up with unique ideas to make the day memorable for their students.“We have asked out students to make posters in groups with every group member writing a quote on ‘importance of education’ on them,” said Seema Roy, Principal, Government Girls Senior Secondary School, New Kondi.

“We have organised poster making and slogan writing activities apart from morning address by teachers highlighting the importance of being literate,” said BK Sharma, principal of Shaheed Hemu Kalani School. Sharma said that all the slogans and posters prepared by the students will be displayed for parents and other students.

Some schools are also organising film screenings for the students. “We’ll show students some theme-based short films,” said an official, Bal Bhawan school, Mayur Vihar.
