Some students of the science stream of standard XII have a double task at hand. Apart from preparing for the board examination, they also have to study for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).

However, teachers and counsellors advise students to concentrate on board exams only.

Teachers even suggest that students should start the revision of all the subjects and emphasise on practising sample question papers.

“Students from the science stream should not loose their focus on the board examination as there is a general tendency among the students to think about JEE and other entrance examinations, affecting their performance in the board exams,” said Shrikant Gupta, principal of Garware College.

He said that the syllabus of standard XII and the syllabus for JEE is quite similar. Hence while preparing for the boards, they automatically prepare for the JEE. Since the examination takes place in April, hence there is ample time for the preparation.

Leena Patankar, vice principal of Modern Junior College, said that the students should now start making points of the topics as the major reading has been done of each and every subject.
“Jotting out important points and going through them will help students to understand whatever they have read so far,” she said.
