Most students who took the CBSE class XII Economics paper found it easy and said that the difficulty level had gone down as compared to the earlier two years.

Students said that the paper was surprisingly easy and not very lengthy.

"The Economics paper is one of the toughest papers every year. Especially for the last two years, the paper has been very tough and lengthy and today's paper thus came as a total surprise" said Neha Sheth, a student from a school in Mumbai.

Akriti Sinha, a student from Pune said that with the low difficulty level, students are now expecting to score well in the subject.

"Most top courses in economics have very high cut offs. With the easy paper, there are hopes of scoring well" added Sinha.

CBSE Class XII boards started on March 9 with a total of 19,85,397 students from classes 10 and 12 appearing for the examinations.

The 100 marks Economics paper consists of Micro and Macro economics concepts for 50 marks each.

The principal of a school in Mumbai said that the paper was in lines with the NCERT text books.

"Most questions were textual and students thus found it easy to write," said the principal.
